Welcome to Eclipse
« on: August 03, 2009, 11:17:25 AM »
Welcome to Eclipse.

You are standing in front of the gates of Eclipse! Ready to explore a new world behind these huge walls encroached by darkness. When you first registered or saw the forum, you saw a lot of us weird members, including me, posting here and having fun. This topic is merely here to invite you to our world, our fun and of course Eclipse and its wonderful community. This community has been established eras ago where king Marsh first got the green forums hosted and got some friends here. Some people survived in that era and are still here or are yet awaited to come back here. We welcome you to our world.

To begin with Eclipse and its amazing community we'd recommend you to look at our forums and especially at its rules, simply because we want to be friends, not enemies. To get started with the actual engine called Eclipse, I'd recommend to look at the 'Announcements' board to get Eclipse on your computer. Many of our people both farmers and civilians in this kingdom explain you how to get going fairly well in this kingdom and they posted all what they know in the 'Tutorials' board but also in boards like the 'Programming Tutorials', 'Scripting Tutorials' and 'Sadscript Tutorials' board. Of course issues might appear and you might require some help. There are various boards like 'Questions' but also various others like 'Bugs & Errors' and the 'Run-Time Error' board. There are many boards each with its own subject, take a look at them.

Although I have welcomed you in the name of Eclipse, there are also some other members who want to say something! Yes, that's right, most if not all of our members care about you! So please read on, if you want.

Regards,
  The Eclipse Community.

Tip: as member you can add your own say to this topic, please keep it professional.
  • I do not provide help through the PM-system or MSN, so please make a new topic with proper spelling and grammar in the appropriate board instead.
  • I prefer British English over anything else, so please install this before posting new topics and replies on this forum.
  • I can't stand people who act like if they were children, so please don't.
  • I recommend you to read the rules before posting. It might solve conflicts before they actually occur.
  • I also recommend you to find the solution yourself before making a new topic about your issue. Chances are that other people had the same issue as well.

It's a rough week, and I don't get enough sleep

Thanks, although other members may help and contribute to this topic too, if they want. So we all get to say something to all the new visitors and new potential members, because people would like it if they were accepted in our community instead of getting flamed at, if that still happens nowadays.

Regards,
  Godlord.

BEFORE YOU START A PROJECT!!

Plan it out. If you begin working on a game just because your hyped about how cool it is, it will fail.
Get a plan together, and KNOW what you want to do, so you wont get lost or bored or frustrated. Planning will save you alot of time and frustration.

And Welcome to Eclipse!
Humankind didnt rise to control the world because we are the smartes, or the strongest. We rose to the top because we are the most insane, murderous bastards on the planet.

Well, I guess I should put in my thoughts.

Welcome new users. Please be kind and courteous and you will enjoy the comforts of this community. But more importantly, be yourself. I cannot remind you enough that you'll get a lot more help and respect if you act like you would normally.

Also, before you start any project, I suggest playing with Eclipse's features first. Get a handle on all the different tools and hone your techniques. Don't be to shy to take a look at the several tutorials as they love the attention.

In closing, just remember ... We are a community of very interesting and crazy individuals and now you're a part of it. Welcome to our corner of the internet. Watch out for Renzo.

As Godlord said, read the rules. Will save you from being warned because of ignorance.

Before asking a question, read a few tutorials and see if it's answered.
Also, check out my FAQ (link is in my signature.) - has a lot of information.
